Grab bars in tubs, showers, and around toilets across the Wasatch Front. Anchored properly to wall studs or with proper backing blocking — never with plastic drywall anchors.
Same-week scheduling · Licensed General Contractor · Fully insured · 1-year labor warranty
Most grab bar failures we see are from previous installs that used plastic drywall anchors. Those WILL pull out under load and cause injury. We anchor every grab bar to a wall stud, or install blocking behind the drywall to anchor to. No shortcuts.

FAQ
Why won’t you use plastic anchors?
Because they fail. Plastic drywall anchors are not rated for the load of someone catching themselves with a grab bar. We’ve replaced many failed installs that used plastic anchors and resulted in injury. We anchor to studs or install proper blocking behind the drywall — period.
What if the stud isn’t where I need the grab bar?
We install backing blocking — a piece of wood behind the drywall that we anchor the bar to. Adds $60 to the install cost but is the only safe option when studs aren’t aligned.
Are suction-cup grab bars OK?
No, except for the very lightest balance assistance. They are not rated for catching a fall. We don’t install them as a safety device — only recommend them for occasional balance support.
Does VA HISA cover this?
Often yes for veterans with service-connected disabilities. We provide documentation suitable for VA reimbursement when applicable.
